ECN contributions to 1994 fuel cell seminar

Nine papers on the research of the Netherlands Energy Research Foundation (ECN) in Petten, Netherlands, on fuel cells are presented in this report. In some cases the research is carried out in cooperation with other institutes in the Netherlands or abroad. The papers deal with (1) the international cooperation on fuel cell research and development via the International Energy Agency (IEA); (2) the technical and economical challenges in the ECN and BCN fuel cell programmes; (3) the conceptual designs of first generation 250 kW Molten Carbonate Fuel Cells (MCFC) demonstration plants; (4) the development and validation of a MCFC stack model; (5) the MCFC stack development at ECN; (6) endurance issues and materials development in MCFC technology; (7) direct internal reforming (DIR) MCFC technology development in the European JOULE programme; (8) solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) component development and testing at ECN; and (9) solid polymer fuel cell (SPFC) research at ECN
