Numerical Study on Configuration Optimization of High Head Large Flood Discharge Tunnel

The flood discharge process of 3# flood discharge tunnel at Xiluodu Power Station in Jinsha River has been simulated successfully by means of k-e turbulence model and VOF(Volume of Fluid)methods.Aiming at the problems that the length and the height of the second and third aeration cavity is too small,and the local cavitation number is too low,the flood discharge configuration is optimized and aeration banks are adjusted,so that the pressure of the flood discharge tunnel inclines to distribute more homogenous and the distribution of cavitation number inclines to stable,which promotes the character of flow cavitation erosion.In addition,the aeration space is enlarged so as to extend the protecting length of cavitation erosion of flood discharge tunnel.
