Seismic Identification of Turbidite Sandbody in Yanchang Formation in the South of Ordos Basin

2009
In the Yanchang Formation of the south Ordos Basin, the lateral changes of turbidite sandbody was quick, seismic identification was difficult, the turbidite reservoir exploration was constrained severely.Based on regional characteristics of the turbidite sandbody, and its depositional patterns,a conceptual model was established, seismic response was synthesized and seismic data were used for a comparison,a front pitching end of delta progradation on the seismic profile was established as a beneficial area for searching turbidite sandbody. On the basis stated above, seismic drilling and logging data are integrally used to design a geological model and a forward seismic modeling is performed, the result is contrasted with that of seismic data, the characteristics of seismic reflection of the regional turbidite sand formation are summarized as moundy reflection and isolated short reflection,by which a basis is provided for quantitatively interpretating and predicting the turbidite sand formation in the region.
