Color Neutral metal-coated article comprising metal-containing or metal surface, a process for its preparation and use an appropriate color-neutral coating

The present invention relates to the use of a layer having an average layer thickness of 50 to 5000 nm, based on a distance of one millimeter along a surface by a layer thickness difference of ≥ 5%, preferably distinguishes ≥ 10%, based on the average layer thickness, as a coating of a non-copper metal or a group consisting of non-copper metal alloy surface. The coating is color-neutral for the unaided human eye. The present invention also relates to a method of producing an article and the article having at least in partial areas of a group consisting of non-copper or non-copper metal alloy surface, wherein in the region of the metal or metal alloy on the surface of a layer having the characteristics described above is applied.
