EFEITOS DA APLICAÇÃO DE LODO DE ESGOTO ESTABILIZADO POR DIFERENTES PROCESSOS NOS ATRIBUTOS QUÍMICOS E MICROBIOLÓGICOS DE UM CAMBISSOLO HÁPLICO

O lodo de esgoto e um residuo orgânico com excelente potencial para fertilizacao agricola, em virtude de sua elevada quantidade de materia orgânica e de nutrientes, promovendo incremento nas propriedades fisicas, quimicas e biologicas do solo. Objetivou-se avaliar os efeitos da adicao do lodo e da fertilizacao mineral nos atributos microbianos do solo. O experimento foi realizado em um Cambissolo Haplico cultivado com milho (Zea Mays L.) Dekalb, com tecnologia VT PRO MAX, de agosto de 2013 a abril de 2014, em que se avaliou a qualidade do solo apos a aplicacao de fertilizantes orgânico e mineral. Os tratamentos avaliados foram: testemunha, lodo solarizado, lodo seco e adubo quimico (NPK). A amostragem de solo foi realizada nas profundidades 0–10 cm e 10–20 cm. Os atributos microbianos do solo avaliados foram o carbono da biomassa microbiana (C-BMS), respiracao basal (RBS), quociente metabolico (qCO2) e quociente microbiano (qMIC). O C-BMS apresentou correlacao com a capacidade de troca cationica (CTC), materia orgânica do solo (MOS), carbono orgânico total, pH e composicao granulometrica do solo. Os resultados obtidos mostraram que, na camada 10–20 cm, houve aumento do C-BMS no tratamento com lodo solarizado em relacao aos demais tratamentos. Nao houve aumento do qCO2, o que indica que a adicao do lodo nao interferiu na eficiencia da atividade dos microrganismos do solo. EFFECTS OF APPLICATION OF SEWAGE SLUDGE STABILIZED BY DIFFERENT PROCESSES IN THE CHEMICAL AND MICROBIOLOGICAL PROPERTIES OF A “CAMBISSOLO HAPLICO” SOIL ABSTRACT Sewage sludge is an organic residue with great potential for agricultural fertilization due to its high amount of organic matter and nutrients, leading to increase in physical, chemical and biological properties of soil. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of application of sewage sludge and mineral fertilization on soil microbial attributes. The experiment was carried out in a “Cambissolo Haplico” soil cultivated with corn (Zea mays L.) Dekalb, with VT PRO MAX technology, from August 2013 to April 2014, for assessment of soil quality after application of organic and mineral fertilizers. The treatments evaluated were: control, solarized sewage sludge, dried sewage sludge, and chemical fertilizer (NPK). Soil samples were taken at 0-10 cm and 10-20 cm soil depth layers. The soil microbial attributes evaluated were: the microbial biomass carbon (MBC), basal respiration (BR), metabolic quotient (qCO2), and microbial quotient (qMIC). It was shown that MBC was correlated to cation exchange capacity (CEC), soil organic matter (SOM), total organic carbon, pH and granulometric composition of the soil. Results showed that, for the 10-20 cm depth layer, there was an increase in MBC in the treatment with solarized sewage sludge, in comparison to the other treatments. There was no increase in qCO2, indicating that the addition of sewage sludge did not affected the efficiency of soil microbial activity.
