Application of Karhunen-Loeve transformation in seismic data filtering

The application of extracting relevant information from seismic data by using Karhunen-Loeve(K-L)transformation is studied.The filtering is realized via event extraction or compression in seismic gathering using K-L transformation.The orthogonal decomposition and singular value decomposition method in K-L operation is discussed.The filtering effect caused by angle,inclination and noise of event is analyzed.The method is applied in model data and real material,and satisfied result is achieved.
