Time Dependent Observation of the Conoscopic Figures of Twisted Liquid Crystal

1982
Therefore, in the present paper, the dynamic behavior of the isogyers observed in this initial period is reported. It is not unnatural to expect that the center of the isogyers always initially appears on the edge of the circular image field of the conoscope and then, in time, gradually shifts towards the final position of equilibrium with the increase in absorbing energy from the electric field. However, our observation shows clearly that such anticipation is incorrect. Our results, together with the discussion of a possible mechanism of the alignment which is consistent with experimental results, are presented in this paper.
