Laboruntersuchungen zur Reduzierung des Verschleisses am Rad/Schiene-System von Strassenbahnen. (Teil 1)

In the following article the results of a research projekt at the Institute for Tribology of Fachhochschule Mannheim are presented. The goal of this projekt was to reduce wear at wheels and rails of trams. For this, a new laboratory-test-procedure was developed for the well known Amsler Tribometer. Several materials and lubricants were examined with this special test. The results are as well interesting for the operators of tram-systems as for the developers of special lubricants for this area.
