Progress of Genetic Engineering of Quality Improvement in Cucumis melo L.

In past 20 years,the plant genetic engineering has obtained important progress and inaugurated an new breeding method of crops for human.This study summarized applications of genetic engineering in keeping fresh during storage,resistance to disease and insects,tolerance to salt in melon.Thus it afforded important safeguard by means of genetic engineering to improve the quality of melon.
