Хозяйственно-биологические особенности казахской белоголовой и симментальской пород на Южном Урале

2016
The materials on the study of economic-biological features of Kazakh White-Head and Simmental cattle in the South Urals are submitted in the article. It is shown that the main trend in the successful development of livestock industry and its profitability depends on the proper, scientifically substantiated choice of breeds and genotypes for cattle breeding. The findings obtained suggest that the steers of the above breeds, if kept under the system of intensive management, can achieve high levels of beef performance and quality. The live weight of Kazakh White-Head steers at the age of 18 months was 487.8 kg with average daily gain of 843 g, the young Simmental showed higher indices of the above parameters, which were 539 kg and 931g, respectively. The data on the high level of slaughter qualities of steers of the breeds under study are reported and they confirm the advantage of young Simmentals over the Kazakh White-Head cattle.
