Highly-efficient NIR sensitization of palladiumphthalocyanine with peripheral σ-π conjugation effect

ABSTRACT We firstly reported soluble palladiumphthalocyanine with peripheral σ-π conjugation exhibiting highly-efficient NIR triplet sensibilization. Selective excitation of 3,7,11,15-tetra (tertbutyl)phthalocyanine palladium (TBPcPd) in solution containing N, N-bis(ethylpropyl)perylene-3,4,9,10-tetracarboxylicdiimide (PDI) as annihilator results in red-to-yellow upconversion with efficiency as high as 4.2%, which is capable of driving Si-photodiode to generate obvious photocurrent.
