Determination of the Mass of Saturn via Improving the Orbit of Phoebe by Numerical Integration

2007
In order to determine the mass of Saturn, the orbit of Saturnian faint outer satellite Phoebe has been improved by numerical integration via fitting to 686 observations available over 1905-2006,in which included are 182 photographic observations and 504 CCD(charge coupled device) observations. The fit yields a new determination of the total mass of Saturnian system:msa = 3 497.0-1 msun(mass of Sun). The new determination is a valuable reference in determining the mass of Saturn with better accuracy.
