Cavernous sinus venography

1970
(“AVERNOUS sinus venography13’23’27”#{176} _#1 i a refined modification of retrograde jugularography. In addition to its diagnostic value in occlusion or compression of the jugular veins or the sigmoid and transverse sinuses, it has become a qualified radiologic method in tumors in the sellar region as well as in other pathologic processes invading the base of the skull such as cancer of the epipharynx or chordomas. When bony changes in tumors of the sellar region are inconclusive or even misleading, cavernous sinus venography often depicts the actual extent of the tumors, especially when they have not yet extended into or beyond the subarachnoid space.
