Information Capacity Influence on Symmetry Effect in Structure of Road Traffic Signs

The research explored the information capacity influence on symmetry effect in structure of road traffic signs.The experiment used delayed matching tasks by studying 18 participants.The results showed that: when the capacity of the information was low,and only four,the operation performance level was high no matter what structure of traffic signs was.The operation performance for symmetrical structure of traffic signs was faster and more accurate than for asymmetrical structure of traffic signs as symmetry of information presentation form was used.When the capacity was more than ten,there was lower operation performance whatever the structure may be.It was concluded that there was symmetry effect in structure as the information capacity was presented between six and ten.
