Relativistic Hartree-Fock nuclear structure calculations in QHD

1993
So far in the relativistic Hartree-Fock calculations the coupling constants and masses of the exchange mesons {sigma}, {omega}, and {rho} (but not the {pi}) are fixed by the saturation of nuclear matter, but these are not optimal for finite nuclei; for example the calculated nuclear total binding energies are seriously underbound. In this work the authors establish a set of parameters by fitting to the properties of spherical nuclei throughout the periodic table. Then they use this set of parameters to investigate the properties of deformed nuclei in the Hartree-Fock approximation. The single-particle energy spectra, total binding energies, quadrupole moments, and magnetic moments will be presented and compared to the experimental values.
