User mobility impacts to mobility load balancing for self-organizing network over LTE system

2018
Mobility load balancing (MLB) is a function where cells suffering from overload forward their load to other cells, which perform early handover for load balancing by adjusting handover parameters. The user mobility impacts to the proposed MLB operation has been evaluated and compared through computer simulations in the paper. According to the results, we found that the proposed MLB algorithm achieve MLB gain as much as 54.7% to pedestrian users with circle mobility, and as much as 26.8% to vehicle users in rectangle mobility. These results inform that the pedestrian users with circle mobility and vehicle users with rectangle mobility can be taken more benefit from the proposed MLB algorithm.
