In this study, we analyzed the influence factors of electric end-use consumption in an apartment unit by analyzing the effect of dwelling characteristics on annual electricity consumption and daily peak load respectively. We collected electric consumption data by end-uses in 40 sample apartment units in Seoul, Korea by real-time metering system, and dwelling characteristics data was collected by field survey. As the result, about 80% of household electricity consumption is used by home appliances. For cooling, rather than building or air-conditioners' energy performances, the occupants' consumption habits, such as daily cooling hour and the number of air-conditioners are shown to be the most important factors of annual consumption and peak load. For lighting, the annual consumption has affected by floor area, the number of occupants, and especially, the number of children between 8 and 19 years is shown as the factor to increase the annual consumption. Furthermore, the influence of LED lights on the energy use reduction is only observed with the peak load. For home appliances, the annual consumption has affected by the number of home appliances which form the base load, such as refrigerators, water-purifiers, and TV's.
