Análise da qualidade de vida e capacidade funcional dos pacientes que sobreviveram a unidade de terapia intensiva

2019
Objective: To analyze the level of quality of life and functional independence of patients as early as the first day of hospitalization and five days after discharge, regarding functional capacity, limitation due to physical aspects, pain, general health, vitality, social and emotional aspects and mental health. Methods: An observational, prospective and qualitative clinical study was conducted in which the quality of life was evaluated through the SF-36 questionnaire, basic activities of daily living using the Barthel scale, and functional independence using the MIF scale (Measure of Functional Independence) in 31 patients, over 18 years of age, of both sexes, admitted to the Intensive Care Unit during the periods of April and May, 2018. Results: The mean quality of life scale decreased in several domains. There was no significant statistical difference in relation to the complete dependence and moderate dependence of the variables. The vast majority of surviving patients (38.71%) presented a degree of severe dependence. The Quality of Life (SF-36) correlation with Functional Independence (FIM) and the Barthel Index in patients interviewed of survivors and deaths and the Quality of Life Correlation (SF-36) with Functional Independence (FIM) and the Barthel Index in the patients interviewed in the two evaluations were statically significant.
