Thermophysical Characteristics of Multicomponent Pastes for Application of Hardening Coatings

The results of studies to determine thermophysical characteristics of multicomponent pastes used for formation of hardening cermet coatings by the method of carbovibro-arc hardening (CVAH) are presented. The coefficients of thermal conductivity and thermal diffusivity, as well as the specific heat of multicomponent pastes for CVAH at different temperatures, have been determined. It is shown that the results of the research and the obtained values of thermophysical characteristics of multicomponent pastes can be used to develop a thermal model of the CVAH process, on the basis of which it is possible to determine appropriate process regimes for hardening machine parts with different geometric dimensions
