Preparation and properties of some graft copolymers of the poly(2-chlorocyanurate) ester of bisphenol A

Abstract Graft copolymers of poly(2-chlorocyanurate)ester of bisphenol A have been prepared by coupling with polymers containing nucleophilic terminal groups. Polystyrene, poly(ethyl acrylate) and poly(methyl methacrylate) have been prepared. Physical properties of the grafts are characterized by two separate glass transition temperatures characteristic of the two homopolymers involved. The thermostability of the grafts increased with increase in weight fraction of polycyanurate in the copolymers.
