Development of an unconstrained activity monitoring system

2003
Monitoring movements can be helpful in the treatment of patients with movement disorders. The unconstrained activity monitoring system (U-AMS) was developed to estimate the movement disorder. It measures the accelerations of body segments. The hardware consists of two biaxial accelerometers to construct three dimensional system, microprocessor, RS232 and flash memory. It was cased by small box. Due to the small size and the comfort, this system does not interfere with daily activity. By using this system, the daily activity of patient's body could be monitored. It functions as the electronic note to record the movement information.
