The increase in tourism activities impulsed by public policies and the internationalization of financial and real estate activities has supposed new urban logic associated with the gentrification process. To analyze this dynamic, we choose the district of Ciutat Vella (Barcelona) in which the tourism plans have promoted mass tourism, negatively impacting the resident population, through the rise in the price of housing, neighbourhood expulsion, replacement of the traditional commerce and appropriation of public space, processes that are destroying its social tissue. This scenario has led to the repudiation of tourism policies in recent decades, the neighbourhood organization and the demand that this process be stopped
