Structural evolution of the southern and northern Central High Atlas in paleogene and Mio-Pliocene times

The High Atlas is an intracontinental folded belt which evolved from narrow subsiding basins in the Early Mesozoic times; folds and thrusts with a double vergence formed since the Upper Cretaceous till the Pleistocene.
