Studies on the chemical constituents of {\sl Heterosmilax japonica}
2005
The compounds were separated with chromatography and their chemical structures were elucidated by means of IR, MS, ~(1)H-NMR, and ~(13)C-NMR spectral method respectively. Nine compounds were isolated from the plant. They were identified as palmaitic acid(I), #alpha#, #alpha#'-[bis-5-formyl-2-furanyl] dimethyl ether(II), p-hydroxybenzoic acid(III), rhein(IV), #beta#-sitosterol-3-O-#beta#-glucoside(V), #beta#-sitosterol(VI), glycerol monopalmitate(VII), behenic acid(VIII) and octacosane(IX). The compounds II, III, IV, V, VII, VIII and IX were isolated from the plant for the first time.
