Water-absorptive ophthalmic lens

2009
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silicone hydrogel ophthalmic lens having high surface water wettability, elasticity, transparency and oxygen permeability without applying surface modification treatment to a lens after forming. SOLUTION: Copolymerization reaction is performed with a solution obtained by dissolving, in amphiphile, polysiloxane macro-monomer, a monomer mixture containing ionic monomer and hydrophilic monomer, and a polymerization initiator. The amphiphile is an organic solvent having a boiling point of 70-200°C, and is selected from a group consisting of acetic acid ester, branched chain ketone, a combination of acetic acid ester and branched chain alcohol, and a combination of branched chain ketone and branched chain alcohol.
