Experimental progress towards new definition of the kilogram using scanning atomic probes and picometer laser metrology

We present our experimental progress in using atomic probes to continuously scan atomic surfaces, in developing picometer laser metrology, and in picometer real-time motion control for our scheme towards new definition of the kilogram.
