Assembly of a new (3,6)-connected cobalt(II) metal–organic framework via a mixed ligands approach
2018
Abstract A new cobalt(II) metal–organic framework (MOF), {[Co 4 (TDA) 3 (HCOO) 2 (TPT) 2 (DMF) 2 ]·4DMF·2H 2 O} n ( 1 ) (H 2 TDA = thiophene-2,5-dicarboxylic acid and TPT = 2,4,6-tris(4-pyridyl)-1,3,5-triazine) has been synthesized via a mixed ligands approach and structurally characterized by elemental analysis, infrared spectra, powder X-ray diffraction, thermogravimetric analysis, and single crystal X-ray diffraction. Interestingly, two neighboring Co(II) ions of 1 can be connected via µ 2 -O from HCOO − anions and TPT ligands to form a 3D (3,3)-connected cationic net with a Schlafli symbol of {10 3 }, which are further bridged by TDA 2− ligands to generate a 3D (3,6)-connected net with a Schlafli symbol of {4 2 ·5 3 ·6 6 ·7 3 ·8}{5 2 ·6}. The magnetic property of 1 was studied in detail.
