The present invention provides a magnetic recording medium inspection method and a manufacture method, a control method of magnetic recording reproducing apparatus and a magnetic recording reproducing apparatus. A magnetic recording reproducing magnetic channel with small projections is determined and the magnetic head is controlled to move to avoid the information magnetic recording reproducing magnetic channel, through writing high frequency signals in the magnetic recording reproducing magnetic channel, detecting pulse reproducing signals after DC erasing or AC erasing, or through writing high frequency signals in the magnetic recording reproducing magnetic channel and detecting intercurrent reproducing signals of leakage pulse and peak pulse. This method enhances reliability and life of the magnetic recording/reproducing apparatus.
