O ovo ou a galinha? Violências nas escolas e comunidades
2019
This paper analyses quantitative and naturalistic data and processes related to school violence. Its results are alarming in relation to the facts in the schools’ environment and out of these institutions. In particular, we present two case studies, where some students were drug users and even small dealers, introducing latter complexity. Furthermore, a research review reveals that not costly, but relatively simple alternatives, when consistently applied, can reduce violence at school, against school and by school. Based on research and literature review, this work offers practical suggestions. In conclusion, schools, in spite of its several alternatives to insert in its social context, cannot be responsible to end social vulnerability.
