Disparidades em saúde da população LGBTQIA+: a atuação médica frente a este cenário

2020
The present study sought to analyze, through a literature review, the quality of medical care for the LGBTQIA+ population from the perspective of humanized care and highlighted the demands for comprehensive and equitable health care for this public. The article analyzes the aspects that determine the evasion of this minority to health services, the situations of vulnerability to which the LGBTQIA+ community is subjected, in addition to evaluating the professional qualification in serving this population, mainly in the scope of Primary Health Care. Thus, it was found that this group remains subject to stereotyped health care and based on the binary sexuality system, which leads to prejudiced and biased care by health professionals. Therefore, it was demonstrated that, despite advances in relation to the demand of the LGBTQIA+ public, the professional must be prepared to offer services to this minority, and it is important that this is introduced during graduation. It is also essential to provide assistance free of personal beliefs and ideological bias, so that it is possible to provide universal, equitable and comprehensive care, as determined by the principles of the Unified Health System.
