Investigation of the Exposure Situation and the Immune Response of High Frequency Exposed Workers in Austria

In Austria approximately 2000 industrial and medical radiofrequency devices were in use in 1994. In a cooperation between the Austrian Research Centre Seibersdorf and the Allgemeine Unfallsversicherungsanstalt the field levels in working areas at 70 radiofrequency medical and industrial devices were measured and evaluated. We surveyed exposure of operators of 29 plastic welding machines, 8 wood and 2 textile drying installations, 13 induction heaters and 18 medical diathermy units.
