MOBILIZAÇÃO NEURAL COMO UM RECURSO FISIOTERAPÊUTICO NA REABILITAÇÃO DE PACIENTES COM ACIDENTE VAS CULAR ENCEFÁLICO - REVISÃO Nervous mobilization as a physiotherapy resource in rehabilitation after strokes - a revision

2007
he Stroke is a neurological condition, which can promote disability and increase the susceptibility to secondary complications along the patient’s life. In order to avoid such complications and to maximize the independence of those patients in activities of their daily lives, new therapeutic techniques have always been proposed. The nervous mobilization is a relatively new technique which tries to maintain or to recuperate the movement and the elasticity of the nervous system. Provided the fact that these nervous properties are altered in individuals who had a Stroke, this study proposes the inclusion of this technique in the patient’s rehabilitation. It is believed that this inclusion is benefi cial because it allows for the maintenance of the nervous biomechanics, contributing in the maintenance of the movement width, in the prevention of post-central pains and in the adjustment of muscle tone.
