Significance of PCT Combined with CRP in Guiding the Treatment of Discontinuation of Antibiotics in Pregnant Women with Subclinical Infection and Premature Rupture of Membranes

2016
Objective To investigate the significance of procalcitonin ( PCT) combined with C-reactive protein ( CRP) in guid-ing the treatment of discontinuation of antibiotics in pregnant women with subclinical infection and premature rupture of membranes. Methods 120 pregnant women with premature rupture of membranes treated in the obstetrics department of our hospital from June 2013 to February 20l4 were selected and randomly divided into the observation group and the control group, with 60 cases in each group. The levels of CRP and PCT in the observation group were observed and the antibiotics were discontinued after the above indexes returned into the normal level, while the antibiotic therapy in the control group kept on after the above indexes returned into the normal level. The incidence of positive outcome, the average use time of antibiotic and the tocolysis time were recorded and statistically ana-lyzed.Results The average use time of antibiotics in the observation group was significantly less than that in the control group ( P 0.05).The average tocolysis time was not significantly different in the two groups (P>0.05).Conclusion PCT combined with CRP can suppress the a-buse phenomenon of antibiotics in pregnant women with subclinical infection and premature rupture of membranes.
