A control of the powertrain operating point of a vehicle

2001
The control system for a motor vehicle engine includes a module generating a static couple value (Cs), corresponding to the maximum couple instantaneously available to the driver, and a dynamic couple value (Cd) corresponding to the couple (11) which the driver instantaneously requires. A second module optimizes the operating point as a function of this information, and pre-recorded constraints. The control system for a motor vehicle engine includes a first module (IVC - 4) generating a signal representative of a static couple value (Cs) corresponding to the maximum couple instantaneously available to the driver. It also generates a second signal representing a dynamic couple value (Cd) corresponding to the couple (11) which the driver instantaneously requires. A third signal is generated representing the limits of variation of the motor speed regime (limvarrpm). A second module (OPF - 7) optimizes the operating point as a function of the pre-recorded constraints, and produces operating conditions (N,C) for the engine at each instant. A third module (COS - 10) translates the operating conditions (N,C) into control parameters suitable for the engine itself.
