Research progress in the relationship between sarcopenia and arteriosclerosis

Sarcopenia is a syndrome related to aging with progressive reduction in whole-body skeletal muscle mass, in declined muscle strength and in functions obsolescence.The relationship between sarcopenia and arteriosclerosis, an early stage of arterial diseases, has been paid less attention till now.It may control or delay a progression of sarcopenia-arteriosclerosis and improve their prognosis to screen a high risk population in time, to prescribe a necessary exercise, to adjust a dietary strategy and to treat dyslipidemia.
