Supporting Factors on Lecturer Performance: Evidence in Private Higher Education

The study intended to examine the supporting factors on lecturer performance in private higher education. An investigation done by directly and indirectly relationship when the motivation as mediating. Using the Structural Equation Model (SEM) statistics method to analyze, the sample of study with purposive judgement sampling obtained 232 lecturers in private higher education.  The results findings reveal that there is a meaningful relationship between self-efficacy, transformational leadership, psychological empowerment, and motivation on lecturer performance in private higher education. The supporting factors significantly positive effect on lecturer performance. Meanwhile, organizational commitment factor is contrary to the expectation, the result showed that no significant effect on lecturer performance. An argumentation of findings due to majority of the lecturers in private higher education has a low level of commitment organizational in performing their duties and functions in accordance with the Tri Darma in Higher Education. This finding has a critical implication to the management of private higher education within enhancing academic performance as well as improving lecturer performance as important aspects.
