Process optimization and scale-up verification of the dispersion process for lubricant production using CFD simulation

For a permanently high product quality of lubricants, among other things, the manufacturing process is decisive. By means of a scale-up verification, the usage of a CFD simulation is presented with the goal to ensure consistent product quality for a disperser system. This contribution presents a novel application of established meshing techniques and numerical methods for scale-up analysis of a disperser-vessel system, combining simultaneous treatment of small disperser and large vessel length scales in a single simulation.
