The invention relates to a method and apparatus for processing carried out by means of triangulation 3D-measurement of, in particular a recess having, object (0), in particular a groove, of a column or a tube, comprising the step relative positioning of a measuring device and the object to one another, wherein the measuring device comprises a single detection device (1) and an optical device (5), which between the detection means (1) and the object generates a plurality of separate optical paths such that a single without optical means (5) original field of view of the detection device (1) is divided into a plurality of sub-fields of view, wherein the single sensing means (1) detects the sub-fields of view separated, wherein the relative positioning is carried out such that at least two sub-fields of view detect the object.
