1. An x-ray diffraction structural analysis established the geometrical and conformational parameters of 4-O-trityl-3-O-acetyl-[1-(exo-cyano)ethylidene]-β-L-rhamnopyranose. 2. The O24 and C1 reaction sites of this molecule are sterically open from the α-face.
