A formação de professores como problema: natureza, temporalidade e cultura

O objetivo da reflexao e analisar a contemporaneidade da discussao em torno da formacao de professores. Propomos esse tema, tao recorrente desde a segunda metade de seculo XX, que se tem constituido como decorrencia das crises do Estado e, consequentemente, da escola. Recorremos ao recurso da memoria de uma geracao de formadores de professores que viveu nesse meio seculo e que toma as narrativas e experiencias construidas a partir desse referencial como eixo da analise tematica. Defendemos que o campo da formacao de professores esta em questao desde que a escola foi atingida por questionamentos sobre sua natureza e papel social, a partir das mudancas politicas, sociais, tecnologicas e culturais dos ultimos cinquenta anos. Recorremos a autores como Perez Gomes, Freire e Bernstein para um dialogo teorico que contribua com o tema. Discutimos, finalmente, o contexto da pesquisa sobre a docencia e que indicadores estao assinalando os novos tempos e desafios. Palavras-chave : formacao de professores, profissao docente, cultura escolar Teacher education as a problem: nature, temporality, and culture Abstract The aim of this reflection is to analyze how contemporaneous the discussion about teacher education is. I propose that this issue, which has been so recurrent since the second half of the 20th century, has been constituted as a consequence of the State's crises and, consequently, of the school's. As a source for this paper, I use the memory of a generation of teacher educators who lived in that period: the educators' narratives and experiences become the axis of the theme analysis. I defend that emphasis started to be placed on the field of teacher education when the school began to be questioned on its nature and social role, taking into consideration political, social, technological, and cultural changes that have happened in the last fifty years. A theoretical dialogue with authors such as Perez Gomes, Freire, and Bernstein has contributed to develop the theme. Finally, I discuss the context of research about teaching and the indicators that show we are going through new times and challenges. Key-words : teacher education, teaching, school culture.
