Intramuscular Compared with Intravenous Ampicillin in the Treatment of Meningococcal Meningitis

1982
AbstractOn a nonselective alternating basis 32 patients with meningococcal meningitis were treated with ampicillin, 15 received it intravenously and 17 intramuscularly. Results indicate that both routes were comparable in their efficacy in the treatment of the disease. No adverse reactions were noted when either route was employed.
