An investigation of phosphorylcholine and phosphorylethanolamine metabolism in the skin and other tissues of the guinea pig, Cavia porcellus

Abstract 1. 1. Phosphorylcholine accumulates in skin in the absence of added glucose, but this effect has not been observed in some other tissues. 2. 2. [ 32 P]-labelling of phosphorylcholine and phosphorylethanolamine in skin does not occur in the presence of certain metabolic inhibitors. 3. 3. Increased [ 32 P]-labelling of phosphorylcholine and phosphorylethanolamine in skin occurs in vito in the presence of added choline and ethanolamine.
