Friend21 project

The FRIEND21 project was initiated by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry. FRIEND21 is an acronym for Future Personalized Information Environment Development. The goal of this project is to develop the next-generation human interface architecture for the computing machinery of the 21st century. The research and development period of this project is six years. In October 1988, P.I.E. (Institute for Personalized Information Environment) was authorized to handle the project to its conclusion at the end of March 1994.
