Comparison of biological characteristics and chromosome ploidy level between a new red-fleshed kiwifruit germplasm 'FXJX-CK-04137' and 'Hongyang'

【Objective】The objective of the study was to elucidate genetic variation of biological characteristics and chromosome ploidy between a new wild red-fleshed kiwifruit germplasm 'FXJX-CK-04137' and the red-fleshed kiwifruit cultivar 'Hongyang'.【Method】Through the investigation of biological characteristics and somatic chromosome number observation,the genetic variation were evaluated.【Result】The results showed that there are genetic differences in biological character between 'JXFX-CK-04137' and 'Hongyang'.The former is a tetraploid,2n=4x=116,while 'Hongyang' is a diploid,2n=2x=58.【Conclusion】The studies revealed that 'FXJX-CK-04137' is a new red-fleshed kiwifruit germplasm resources and could be used as breeding material.
