Effect of HTMT on the structure and properties of alloy VT3-1

1977
1. With the same strength characteristics (σb=146–148 kg/mm2), HTMT substantially increases the ductility (ψ=35%) as compared with heat treatment without deformation (ψ=14%). 2. Deformation of alloy VT3-1 at high temperatures increases the homogeneity of the β phase, increases its stability, and affects the phase transformation. The optimal combination of strength and ductility is obtained by HTMT at 930°, followed by aging. The structure consists of sections of α phase and highly dispersed heterophase sections (α+β).
