Breeding Technology of Big Leaf Fast-growing Pagoda Tree by Using Buried Roots Breeding

Breeding technology of the big leaf fast-growing pagoda tree through buried root seedling was studied.The result showed that the survival rate of roots by using flat burying is better than that by using slant or vertical burying.With the same root burying method,the survival rate of mother roots with length of 10～15 cm is higher than that of 7～10 cm,diameter of 1.0～2.0 cm is higher than 0.5～1.0 cm.The survival rate is lowest with diameter below 0.5cm and length of 20cm.Seedling production,base diameter growth and growth increment of DBH of the mother roots with diameter of 1.0～2.0 cm is higher than that of 0.5～1.0 cm,whereas treated with flat burying and vertical burying.
