The invention relates to a method for manufacturing a component, in particular a gas turbine component, comprising at least the following steps: a) producing a component having a plurality of component surfaces, said at least one transition area between two component surfaces has a transition radius that is greater than 0.05 mm and less than 0.3 mm; b) solidifying the component at least at the or each transition region by ultrasonic shot peening.
