THE ANALYSIS OF THE AGGRESSION ORIENTED TENDENCIES OF THE SPORTSMEN ACTIVE IN DIFFERENT SPORTS BRANCHES

Most of the participants are between 15-19 years old. Most of the sportsmen attended to the research are busy with football. (28.92%) It is seen that the sportsmen don't show meaningful difference in aggression tendency in terms of gender. (p>0.05) There is no meaningful difference when the sportsmen's sport ages are taken into account. There is a meaningful difference in the level of tendency of aggression according to the branches of the sports. (p<0.05). According to that, the sportsmen whose branches are wrestling show the highest level of aggression with the value of (X=17,23). As a consequence: Among all the students attended to the research, the wrestlers show the highest level of aggression. There isn't a meaningful difference according to the age difference or gender difference. Key words: Sportsmen, Different Sports Branches, Aggression 1. INTRODUCTION Sports is an activity chain which improves health, aids to be healthy not only psychologically but also physically, requires attentiveness in deciding quickly and correctly, by rising the qualities of attention and comprehension, improves mental and kinetical skills. While sports makes its environment a social area, it is a cultural, cooperative and competitive phenomenon,improving physical and mental qualities, uniting the society. It is done under some regulations and rules, directly or indirectly, and the sportsmen can do it individually or collectively; in leisure times or making it a full time job. The purpose in the sports is both enjoying the time and pulling one's rank, and in these days it is for earning money and living off. The human being has the intuition of winning. Dominating and ruling over to the society, environment and the world is an inherent motive. If this motive is not canalized in the correct way, violence and aggression emerge. Aggression is explained as the behaviour aimed at destroying somebody's property and harming a person psychologically and mentally (Yetim, 2000). Aggression is a Latin originated word meaning "heading". Within the scope of this word, there are the meanings of "developing an accurate attitude, reaction and destroying". Violence and aggressive behaviour can be seen in important parts of sports widespread. The aggression in sports is alleged as the only applauded and condoned violent activity by most of the people. Recently, the violence in sports has become an important social problem.(Cobanoglu Guner :2006:55) The sportspersons whose form is not adequate, get tired quickly and the initial symptoms of that are aggressiveness and anger. The reasons of occurring aggression in sportsmen are ; increasing exhaustion, the tension of the stable score, the opponent's physical power and performance's being high and most significantly, the prolonged aggressive behaviours of the opponent are tolerated by the referee and the audience.
