On the Production and Consumption of Charcoal in Qin and Han Dynasties

Charcoal which is one type of primary fuel was used extensively by common people and industrial production field,such as metallurgy,ceramics and salt evaporation in Qin and Han Dynasties.The forest resources had been destructed excessively because of the overuse of charcoal,which resulted in serious ecological effect.The ecological deterioration and frequent natural disasters are closely related to this situation.
