Competência Informacional e Midiática: uma revisão dos principais marcos políticos expressos por declarações e documentos
2017
Factors such as the culture of convergence and the diffusion of digital technologies have consolidated mediatization as a generalized social and technological phenomenon that strongly influences social, economic, cultural and educational instances. As a result of the growing demand for a society connected and saturated by the media and information, the empowerment of people through media literacy and information literacy (AMI) became a prerequisite for the full exercise of democracy and citizen participation, through equitable and critical access to information and knowledge. The objective of this article is to present the main political milestones represented by declarations, manifests and recommendations defined by international organizations such as UNESCO and IFLA, and national entities such as FEBAB, related to the promotion of informational and media literacy and, from there, to reflect about their potential to bring effective and virtuous social, political and educational changes in societies and governments
